Best automated terrarium setup?

What is the best terrarium setup? I currently use the ultrasonic humidifier setup from the MMGG, but apparently it doesn?t exchange air and creates too much moisture. I want something that I can leave alone for a few days while everything is automated. Perhaps using perlite so my humidifier will only have to run a couple times a day and implementing some kind of fanning device? Please help.

You could hook an air pump up to your terrarium and just let it run all the time. The air pump will give good air exchange along with the perlite giving good humidity.

I thought the ultrasonic provided very little air exchange, I'm not very clear on this though. I use a cool mist setup, it's totally automated, only thing to do is fill the humidifier and pick shrooms

So if I used a cool mist humidifier my terrarium would be completely automated, air exchange and all? I was also just reading about putting a hole in the styrofoam cooler and covering it with a coffee filter to let old air out and keep harmful crap from coming in? would simply implementing this solve my air exchange problem?

Probably...Can't say for sure though. It would be good for letting Co2 out.
But yes a cool mist would supply constant air exchange and humidity, making it nearly maintenance free except to fine tune it for humidity levels and such. A coffee filter would not prevent contaminants from getting in, but it would prevent flies and such.

I don't understand why you r sayin yltra sonic humidifiers don't provide air exchange. They (or at least my friends) has a little in in them that send the mist out of it. If the mist is comin out its obviously movin the air

what i meant to say in my other post was a little fan.. I'm going to use my ultra sonic humidifier, and just incase it doesn't I'm gonna have an air pump with an air stone at the end in a little cup o water with some h202 in it to provide air exchange.

The reason it wouldnt provide any air exchange is if its pumping humid air in without letting any air escape anywhere.. of course it would provide air exchange if you made a hole in the side on the bottom of the terrarium so that CO2 flows out freely.. humid air with oxygen flows in, CO2 flows out bottom.. thats air exchange good enough for any setup.
