I picked all of them from one container when one of them broke the veil, but they have dark blue areas (as in the pictures below), are they ok?

Blue = bruising. That is 100% normal with cubensis.

That just shows where you introduced trama to the mushie!

The only thing is you picked them too soon... not that big of a deal, but you should have waited until the veils opened up on them. Once that happens thats when you wanna pick them.

No biggy, enjoy!

Well done. Like everyone said, could have waited a little longer to harvest though, but its okay, more nutrients for future flushes!

You'll get a hang of it soon enough.

Mazapatek [Re: subject]

they are mazapatek
I know I piked them up early, but I can't wait any longer to try them
Those are on rye substrate (one container with vermiculite casing and one with 50/50 vermiculite/peat moss casing) but I also have another box with some cakes waiting to fruit.

I read somewhere that even aborts are very potent so these should be potent too even if most of them are only between 5-10 cm

I piked them all from the verm/peat casing container (abt 40-50 shrooms) and I sprayed with water and waiting for another flush. I didn't wanted the big ones to throw spores in the box.

It bothers me though that is been abt 6 days since they started out and they are only that small.

I also had some problems with some jars that i trew away because  blue tiny dots apeared on the white mycelium and after I shaked the jars the mycelium didn't recover and stopped growing.

Tiny dots? what color.. tiny WHITE dots is ok, thats the beginning stages of hyphal knots. which eventually turn into pins then big beauties.
Any color other then WHITE is no good.

Don't expect BIG shrooms like you see once in a while in pics... They are formed with the perfect conditions not to mention a little bit of luck. Your substrate only has enough nutrition to produce a certain amount of mushrooms. So sometimes your going to get a shitload of small guys, sometimes you'll have a decent amount of avg sized, and once in a while you might get a crop of 1 or 2 big ass shrooms and hardly anything else. That is something you can't control. However if you ever do get a big beauty, make sure you take a print!

a question [Re: v1ad]
    #11329905 -

I use multiple jars to fill one container and then I add the casing.

My question is, what happens if one of the jars is slightly contaminated but I don't manage to discover the contamination and I use it along with other jars to fill a container. Will the contamination spread through the whole substrate? and destroy it all and it will not make fruits? or it will make fruits but will be poisonous. And if the mushrooms grow from a contaminated substrated will I be able to identify them as being poisonous or do they look exactly the same?

PS:"Tiny dots? what color.. Any color other then WHITE is no good."

Blue is bad, throw away anything that is 'contaminated'
The problem is your going to get them spores in the air and all future work will become contaminated. I had that problem myself.

It took me like 3 months to figure out that I had to bleach sterilize everything! lol.

I would never ever in a million years mix a slightly contammed jar with good ones. that could be a waste for your good jars. However you might get lucky and the mycelium would win the battle with the contam.

I wouldn't gamble though.

Of course I wouldn't do that on purpose, but I was asking because it may happen for one jar to be slightly contaminated without me knowing...and I wanted to know what the consequences may be.

Worst case is you lose everything to contam and possible contam future grows.

Best case is you get lucky and the myceilum overpowers the contam and you get a decent flush.

=)
