Pinning time?
    #11260302 - 10/16/09 02:23 PM (14 years, 5 months ago)

I recently put my cakes in my shotgun fruiting chamber.

How long generally does it take to start to see pining?

I was watching RR's videos and he shows significant growth within 4 days. I have had mine in there for 5 days and there's not a single sighn of any growth/pinning.

I have the cakes sitting on perlite in a SG fruiting chamber. I fan and then mist it a couple times a day.

Any tricks to induce pinning?

I usually get pins within 48 hours. If you didnt leave the cakes in the jars to "get a hold" of the substrate then they will sit for about a week longer than usual before they start to pin.

Place your cakes on small peices of aluminium foil then onto the perlite. I dont know why this works but it does

Thats just keeps them off the perlite. You can use lids or tin foil to do that has nothing to really do with pinning time. im sure he already has them on either or

If you didn't let them consolidate, it will take at least a week, probably more.

Edit- Didn't read initially. I see that you did this.
