i hate being sick..

i havent been this sick in over a year.. damn n i dont miss it.  but the point of this thread is.. anybody ever get kinda depressed while sick?? i just got a cold n i feel pretty depressed from it n also, anybody ever notice the really weird like.. thoughts or feelings while sick?? more so feelings actually. its so hard to explain. i denno. being sick from me atleast is like opening another door kind of. i actually do believe that while sick, there is some kind of spiritual connection because i dont feel this weird while i aint sick. i dont like these feelings tho, there pretty errie.

When I get sick, for some reason, my mind thinks of the worst possible things for being sick, and it's uncontrollable and pretty strange. Like, I might feel like throwing up or have a bad cold and then I start thinking of some disgusting food or some really bad experience. Thank god I haven't been sick in like 2 years.

being sick is so weird for me. i never understood it. it definately opens some kind of door in me because i feel so different emotionally. especially if i come down with a fever. i get crazy thoughts n feelings. not so much thoughts but my minds eye acts up really strangly.

I have mono right now, I went through about a week of flu fevers and throat problem similar to strep. After the flu began to wane the throat problems got worse and I went 3.5 days without anything but water that was a trip. Apparently I am in the very beginning stage so I have another 2 weeks at least to look forward to. The prospect of withdrawing from college is looking more and more realistic and that totally sucks :sad:. I feel you on the depression man I feel like a bad guy for being where I am at.

When I get sick I just think that I am sick. There is no mood or emotional attachment. I would have to be damn sick to not be able to have fun.

being sick takes you away from your normal life so when you are sick you're basically being deprived and malnourished and held back from life

i've been sick for 8 damn years and i hate it with a passion. the whole time i've had pretty bad depression including now-even though i can do so much more than i used to.

also being sick keeps you from accomplishing things , doing things, completing tasks etc. and how are you supposed to feel happy with yourself when you can't do any of them

This is generally how I feel. Often times I feel more relaxed just because it takes energy out of me. I'm sometimes more rambunctious just because I feel so loopy. My friends actually teased me because it was known that I kind of liked being sick.

In high school I didn't care at all when I got sick, and sometimes enjoyed it because it put me in a different headspace and was just kind of calming. Now that I have real obligations sickness pisses me off. I'm sick right now and this week is going to be a living hell because I couldn't study while I was sick and I'm supposed to take a physics exam tomorrow but I can't because I was sick all weekend. So I'll be adding on the new material while studying for this freaking test. Also my workout routine goes down the tubes when I'm sick.

Life doesn't slow down when you do....that's why illness sucks for me.

Yeah this sounds a lot like my experience. It gets really existential for me sometimes, and with a fever I can have pretty weird hallucinations.

Although I can also see what fazdazzle is saying; I got mildly sick a couple weeks ago and it was so nice. I felt so relaxed and comfortable, and I felt like I connected to an earlier self. It was almost awakening in a sense to slow down and enjoy simple things. Simplify, Simplify, Simply.
