Hi, I live in Florida
    #11056667 -

My friends and I decided that we are going to go mushroom hunting. I have been studying a map of Florida to decide where the best place to mushroom hunt. I decided that we should hit up all of the cow fields that surround Lake Jesup. I decided that the best way to get there is by canoe. My dad owns 2 canoes. I think the best way to do this is to launch our canoes at Lake Howell and canoe all the way to Lake Jesup ( a good 13 mile canoe trip). I will pack a cooler full of food, drank, and make sure that we have enough weed to last all day. I am just worried that we will canoe all the way up to Lake Jesup and not find any shrooms. Lake Jesup is a huge lake, and its entire perimeter is surrounded with cow fields. I was hoping to get some opinions from experienced shroom hunters. What do you guys think of my plan?

I don't think anyone is going to shoot us. But that is the reason I wan't to canoe up to these fields. It is very stealthy. And yes.. the canoe trip will be fun, shrooms or no, but I don't wan't to come home empty handed.

Your plan sounds fine. Im not from florida or anywhere in Cubensis country but i doubt you have to canoe 13 miles to find some mushrooms. You could probably just drive to an area with pastures. But then you would miss out on the Canoeing! However you choose to do it there is no way to say whether or not you will find mushrooms. Thats the beauty of hunting in my opinion.

p.s. Welcome!

ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE!

Yes...I think there is a very good chance of us finding a good sum of mushrooms. If you guys want I will post pictures of my findings, and maybe some pictures of the trip itself.

I live in Lake Mary, I go to the 3 fields( I did)around Lake Jessup and of lately there hasn't been much growing.I walk for hours out there, and find maybe enough for 3 people to trip. When 2 months ago I was pulling enough for 30 people and was walking by tons.I think this heat is killing them.I however found a field about 20 min from there, that I found. That is producing nicely.Im me and I'll give you directions.I have too many as is. I just love spending time with nature, out in some woods finding cubes.I'm hoping in about a month they will start growing like before.
