There is a storm that just landed in Clearwater and it should blast straight across the middle of the state?~!
This kind of weather sucks for Cubes and Copes.
It's sorta dangerous to go hunting after these storms too. -Tree limbs have a tendancy to fall onto Shroom hunters heads after a storm passes

this tropical storm should bring low pressure to GA which means rain in the coming weeks.

I went out early this morning in Pinellas County (Tampa Bay area) and only found 5 very small baby copes. Comparably I noticed that this morning was wetter and a little cooler than a couple of weeks ago when I was finding larger copes in greater quantities.
Question - after the rain passes and the sun heats up the field again - should the hunting return to being better?

Really? Even after a week or so once it drys a little but the grounds are still wet? I'd think a few days after a storm would be ideal.

A storm passed through yesterday in central Florida and today its been on-off sunny-cloudy-sun showery (despite what the forcasts have said). It looks like the right weather for shrooming so tonight Im goin out to see what I can find. I will report back at around 7am tommarow and tell the shroom wizard and whoever else is listening first hand what is out there. If it ends up being really successful, then Ill start a new thread to spread the word of any finding's from my adventure. If you dont hear from me by tommarow then Im either A. shot by an angry farmer B. Being arrested for trespassing or C. Lost in the field Trippin my nuts off (JK)

Hey Orizon, good luck man,I wish I could go to my field and get lost too, hehehe, but I cant cuz its not Pan Subb season yet,and prolly not till next year despite the hotter weather from this summer, but hey maybe I'll have some luck and get lost in my field also! I only found one pan subb this year some small copes some psilocybe coprophilla and a very rare very small very inmature cubensis somehow, and of course other non-active beutiful mushrooms!Peaceout and maybe this fall will bring us all better luck!!!!!!!

Ok heres the report....I was in the field for bout an hour and half and found only 7 medium to large copes and a 2 Huge and 3 smaller cubes. This may seem like a pretty good harvest but this field usually yields much much more. I think you were right about it being too wet....I was slodging through mud as some points and it even started raining when I was out there. But some even better news....This is the field that I dropped all my supplies (bag pack, flashlight, scissors) about a week earlier when a cop was giving me some trouble. (more on that story if interested: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...o=&fpart=1) But anyways I found all my stuff Yipee!! And I now park at a motel and ride a bike to the field..(its also kinda fun biking in the field) So theres my report...Ill probally go back in a few days to check it out again. -Orizon
