Nice!

It turns out through DNA testing, they are not a muscaria variant, but are their own species.

According to RET, there is a species recently named from Costa Rica that may be this same species.

Strangely enough, A. muscaria var. persicina is more closey related to the Eurasian muscaria and two of the three muscaroid species from Santa Cruz Island, California than it is to A. amerimuscaria.

Will you be eating these?

Yes they are active but not the way that psilocybin mushrooms are active, if you are new to hunting I do not recommend eating any of the active Amanitas, they are legal though. :cool:

You could seriously hurt yourself if you start messing around with the genus Amanita.

Found some more today.

Note the cap color on some of these, this is from exposure to the sun for extended periods of time.

If your new to the genus please be careful.

Found it in a lawn today near some trees.

Yes I'd say so. The bulb isn't that well developed and the veil is thin.

Even though weiliiiii isn't going to eat them. They sure look good on those plates.

Can't you bake them at like 200F+ to destroy the toxins?? I hear Amanita muscarias are very delicious despite their reputation for poisonings.
