Re: When does "personhood" begin? [Re: Shroomism]

Shroomism..

I agree with you and have been blessed with this "thought" for some time.It is only after an experience in my own personal relationship  that i was able to grasp the concepts being shown to me. Exactly 1 year and 10 months after my K. awakening, my partner  had a very similar spontaneous experience while I sat in meditation. He said he was drawn to sit near me and as he did my hands shot out and with one on his crown and the other at his heart..i can only express it as an incredible exchange of energies that left him with a very AWARE and "open" spirit. He was in DIRECT connection to his Divine Spirit for almost 48 hours...in that time we both experienced more that my meager human language could express. He has since 'come down' a bit and  is better able to process what was given him. He remains a very connected human. The one thing I clearly remember was him being "allowed" to fully feel my energies..this left him simpering and sobbing with a blissful look on his face...when he was able to speak he told me just how directly connected and IMMENSE my Divine Spirit was..and how I had acheived soemthing far greater than he could ever hope to in this lifetime...
He also said that I was needed for his awakening , but that i needed noone....except the ALL..the Devine within.

Afterwards, we sat and discussed the ideas i mentioned above and came to the same conclusion.....Women being the original healers, seers, etc.(not to mention they are the only one to carry and bring forth another life) became a force to fear and yes...men feared they would become obsolete.MANY heinous acts have been commited against womankind out of nothing more than fear....The Burning Times...We shall never forget...

I honestly believe balance is necessary and therefore neither is more "important" than the other....i just wish  the 'average' male could open themselves up to the possibilities of women having MUCH knowledge and experience to impart.

And so all who read this know....this man..my partner...could NOT have been more of a "traditionalist" if you had brought him straight from the cave  He spent many years being a DOMINANT male and women had their place. Our lives are VERY different now...he is his own Divinity and does not kiss my ass or "worship" me...however he appreciates me more and has me on a more  respectful level...as he does with all women now

Thank you for letting me share this....and although i donot celebrate this capitalistic  day of gluttony and lies...i do , however ,find i have MUCH to be thankful for

~K~

women are indeed more evolved than men... it is one of the main reasons i get along better with persons of the female gender than of the male... and i have to add to what mystrys and shroomism said, that as much as we have a patriarchy today (dominant males), we used to have a very very huge matriarchy on this planet... women were the dominant gender for hundrets of years, and men were basically sex-slaves... until they decided to rebel, and invented the idea of a male god...
anyways, my point is i deeply honor and respect the female gender... the mere force and will to bring a child to life is just amazing... god bless them, for what they give to us men day by day...

has anyone else ever entertained the idea that WOMEN were actually "awakened" first and are therefore closer to the Divine??

Yes. I always associate females as closer to "kundalini" energy (it has many different names). I think it is much harder for a man to awaken and surrender to this energy than it is for a woman.

To heal you must make yourself vulnerable by opening your heart... but it's all right.

I think women are better then men. Men are for the most part jerks, but there are a lot of psycho bitches out there too. I suppose this is to balance the scales.

But yeah, women usually aren't violent and they can express themselves easier.

It seems strange to me that people look down on killing, but not on conceiving new life. Having a baby is essentially killing a person... since that baby will eventually die.

Its also funny how the same pro-life people wont think twice about eating animals, and killing insects.

If it has eyes to see the world, it has thoughts to perceive it.

Damn Bleak!  Careful with that signature of yours.  At first I read your post and thought it had some interesting points.  Then I got to the end where it said "The above has absolutly no basis in reality. Fuck you pig!" and thought you were a pissed off pro-lifer.  Luckily I realized it was just your signature, and not part of the message just before I sent my initial reply!

Exactly 49 days after conception...as the pineal gland is formed and begins activity. This is when a soul has then chosen the body.

Isn't that when DMT is transferred from the mom to the fetus?

Is the yin greater than the yang? Is the source greater than the void? Is the reaction greater than the reaction?
NO

Is one sex greater "more evolved" than the other.
NO

That's my opinion on that.

I disagree. Some species of animal have a bigger and more powerful male. A buck and a doe for example.

I'm not talking about size. I'm saying is one BETTER than the other. Greater size does not neccisarily denote greater value

Let's say personhood has been physically, scientifically proven to begin at age 5. If you decide that you don't want the child before that would it be ok to abort this non-person?

My grandma swore that life began at 50.

Dude we invented value....

nature has what we consider "value" perfected. The males may be bigger and more powerful, however the female needs to be able to give birth and teach the offspring "whats up."

Merux I really thing the yin and yang are always perfectly balanced  unless something is a natural failure, in which case a yin will override a yang or vice-versa until whatever lifeform or phenomenon we're plugging into this generality either dies off or stops occuring.

Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.

If personhood is the criterion by which we can decide to take a life then the answer has to be yes.

The answer to this conundrum is to be found in a corrected version of Aristotle.

I completely agree with Mr. Mushrooms. I seriously doubt that personhood could be defined to begin at age 5, but if it were, then the answer would be yes.
