Its probably because I picked them up at court ordered group therapy where I would smoke with the other people during smoke breaks when I was annoyed and bored at my groups.

In my forty-something years on this rock we call home, I don't think I have ever heard anyone use the phrase "chase the buzz" in regards to cigarettes. :grin:

I don't think I've ever heard of anyone "chasing the buzz." Chase the high maybe. I know you are thinking I was using the common hard drug phrase that people use to describe binges, but I was just accurately describing my thought process. Since nicotine's effects significantly lessen after about a minute of non-smoking, I was literally chasing after the buzz by having another.

This brings me to something I have been thinking about for like a week. Almost any time you talk about cigarettes, its extemely fucking lame and someone always rubs it in your face that cigs are lame. When you talk about the effects some asshole (not your Papaver, you were polite at least) is always like "Smoke weed dude, cigs are for middle schoolers and gross losers!" and cigarettes are just generally regarded as the lamest thing ever. Its probably because they were so cool back in "the day" and now all the bad press and cliche-ness has made them the anti-cool. I was having a conversation today where I described having a cigarette for the first time in a few days as comparable to being high except that its dirty and only lasts for a minute and a fucking 14 year old (or around there) kid turns around and goes "weed is better." I really feel like cigarettes suck, but its almost annoying that people act like you are talking about huffing airduster when you talk about having a cigarette.

Don't get me wrong. I'm far from an anti-smoker. I'm a serious smoker. I have been for decades, and will continue to be. It's become almost a political statement for me to continue to smoke, just because all of these sissified fussbudgets are always after us smokers to quit. It's really none of their business...

That being said, I'd never recommend anyone start smoking. It's not the greatest of habits, but that's a decision that's really up to the individual and not the group.

I just found the use of the phrase "chasing the buzz" funny in relation to cigarettes. I'm sure somewhere deep in my dark past, there was a "buzz" involved, I just can't remember one after a half-million of the things...

I don't think this will help many people, but I'd like to throw it out there anyway.

I'VE BEEN TOBACCO FREE SINCE MONDAY NIGHT!!!

I honestly feel so much better. I quit for about a week several months ago, but it honestly was so hard then. I would be alright until about 5 o'clock, then I would really start itching for one. If I still didn't have one in a few hours, I would have a headache that would almost put me out for the night. It was absolutely horrible. This was while I was smoking Camel Filters.

Sometime after, I ended up switching to American Spirits. They didn't make me feel as bad as Camels and the like. I stuck with those for a while, smoking usually at least a pack a day like I always have of any cigarettes.

Well I had been considering what my health was worth to me, and I had been trying to think of a way to quit. Well Monday night, I figured I've just got to do it and quit talking about it, and honestly it was that easy. Even with my friends smoking in the house, even though I still have cigarettes left, I have no desire to smoke one.

I think it may be mostly to do with AS being additive free. It's at least worth considering if you want to try to quit. I'm still almost in shock at how easy it was this time. I even got down to like 2 or 3 a day with Camels, but they still fought me hard everyday. Now I've went from 20+ to none and I feel like a million bucks. No headaches. No cravings. I just feel really good!

Yeah its a dirty habit. Weed isn't necessarily an awesome smell to non-smokers, but its not unpleasant; cigarettes are nearly unbearable. In relation to the buzz, you should almost detox yourself and start up again, the buzz is VERY nice although its shorter than any other drug out there (probably why its so addictive). When I first started smoking and would burn a cigarette really quick, it would be very intense, but now its basically nothing but a relaxed feeling. I've seriously thought about wearing a couple nicotine patches all day to keep a buzz going. But once again I feel like a middle schooler talking about cigarette buzzes when I have a couple ten strips and some bangin' herb in a drawer thirty feet away. I think I might quit, but then again its just so nice to have a few socially over the day and I still get an okay feeling off my first of the day. I'll probably quit when I start my health kick because I've noticed serious a serious decrease in aerobic stamina since I started; I'm huffing and puffing after a 5 minute jog (combo of my out-of-shape-ness and the new cig habit).
