Are you asking me to teach you English?

"are we intelligent beings?" Is a very broad subject. Your recent posts are no more on or off topic than mine.

I wasn't trying to bag you for going off topic, I saw no problem with it, it was just an observation. Although it is interesting that you interpreted the additional meaning of "Mufungo is having a go at me for going off topic" which was never in the words themselves. Just an observation.

I shared these observations to bring to attention that when people introduce a (new) concept to the conversation, the meaning of the conversation is changed beyond the words that were used. In other words, no one was talking about respect or resentment before, then you introduced it, and the focus of the conversation as well as the meaning of it changed. Another way of saying this is, although you believe you should be taken literally, a literal meaning is too narrow a scope of meaning and is impractical to how people actually make meaning. So it is impractical to expect yourself to be taken literally, and thus with such an expectation, you'll probably be disappointed. The meaning of words, sentences, paragraphs has fuzzy boarders and is fluid, not clearly defined and fixed. Multiple meanings can be interpreted from anything.

What about the hours upon hours of documentary footage on the topic of the animal kingdom or planet earth or the cosmos? I'd say that is congratulating the wonders that surround us.
