maybe theres different types. I think everyone has the capacity for universal intelligence, its just theres things blocking us from having the perfect way of thinking. Some have advantages others don't. I was just wondering, I hate intelligence. A few months back I was getting delusions based around intelligence. I was, for sure, stupid and people blagged me all the time, but I wasnt sure how many were the ultra intelligent. 99.9% or 10%? Anyway, tis over now and women are not telepathic...or are they?

Hard to say... There is of course knowledge of things... Then knowledge about knowing... You gain some by what you are told or find out from some source, other things through experience... Seems to me like I can't ignore things that I used to be able to if I know they muxt be fixed in some way it nags at my mind until I do something.. Although maybe that is more awareness then intelligence, or intelligence concerning seeing things from many points of view.

Read the eighfold model of consciousness under the Timothy Leary link on www.deoxy.org. It explains intelligence and makes sense to me.

It explains a lot about intelligence, and evolution. It's a great read.

I think of intelligence as the ability to learn, understand, and deal with new situations.

My definition of intelligence is the exact opposite of what most politicians possess.

PostalBoy nailed it! My opinion- The ability to naturally understand things. (By naturally, I mean not being taught to understand) I'm the co-leader of a professional psychologists group that gets together every weekend. I was invited in even though I don't have a degree in the subject, but I teach them some things. On the other hand, sometimes I think Intelligent people simply aren't lazy. Mensa requires an IQ of 132 for membership. So what do you Mensa alumni have to say on this subject?

I think intelligence is just pattern recognition, nothing to do with knowledge or the ability to use it (or even absorb it in some cases...) (tho there's *probably* a correlation between high IQ scores and higher education, financial success etc...)
I think of it more as a physical attribute (in the sense that it can be measured) than a mental one...ie I don't attribute any more significance to it than I would height or strength or 20/20 vision...it's something potentially useful if you can find a way to use it...but ofcourse there are more ways in the information age to use intelligence than height...

I think Pynchon pretty much nailed it. Though I would also like to point out that intelligence (pattern recognition) is being able to see something from many different angles (to REALLY put yourself in another's shoes- not astral projection, Shroomism)... Intelligence can change... you can change it only by gaining perspective perspective perspective....

Let's see - average intelligence is roughly 100 on the Intelligence Quotient scale. So we measure the IQ of 3 hypothetical people.
Person A: IQ of 105 Person B: IQ of 110 Person C: IQ of 85
In this sample, 33.33% of the people have below average intelligence.
So your statement is not necessarily true.
