Yea it sucks that I don't take advantage of it as much as I should...and it sucsk I'll be moving to New Mexico in two weeks...but fuck it at least I'll have my own apartment.

Hes not talking about UCSD hes talking about SDSU.  UCSD is in La Jolla which is definitely boring.  SDSU is in San Diego and is a really fun school. Id still say UCSB is better but Isla Vista/Goleta is a pretty small town and Santa Barbara doesn't offer nearly as much as San Diego does in terms of things to do.

Its so rare to be able to do that drive in a reasonable amount of time, the freeways are almost always blown up with traffic

If you leave from San Diego early in the morning by the time you hit the 405 or the 5 in LA there will be mad going to work traffic.  It is possible to avoid traffic occasionally but on the average that trip is going to physically penetrate you in the ass.  It once took me 5-6 hours to get down to SD.

--san diego seems like a riot and i would probably never get bored. santa barbara sounds pretty cool_ green t, sounds like a relaxing place for sure, does it have an l.a. vibe to it in terms of people and enviornment?

--santa cruz sounds like a hella chill place for sure, especially because its close to san francisco. i just wanna party my ass off because i know after i accomplish all my academic goals this year i'll be wanting to take a nice break with some cali chicks and weed lol, and really make a living whereever in cali..

--in terms of gpa which would you guys think i would have an easier time to get into? all the transfers(out of state) for each of the schools are 2.8 i believe, besides chico.

SB has a chill small town vibe to it - i wouldn't recommend it if you are a city person. Everyone there is really friendly though, and not a "conservative vibe" you get from other towns. Its nice because you can run out of your house and be running on the california coast in 5 minutes if thats your kind of thing. Most of the dorms are within a couple of minutes of the beach. There are also places to surf and hike nearby, and places to snowboard are only a couple hours drive away.

Its also not actually in the city though; the city is 15 minutes down the coast. The main happenings occur in Isla Vista, which is a 2sq mile town on the coast, and most of the residents are college students. The party scene is INSANE too. Everyone throws parties and everyone smokes weed, and people come all the way from AZ for the halloween party.

That being said, if you like the outdoors and laid back atmosphere, go here. If you like the hustle and bustle of a city, explore your other options.

but seriously, that really sounds like an amazing college town. iff the girls are hot and the parties are good, then that sounds like a plan lol.

is it frat parties/house parties everything? because i'm totally down with that, i hope a 3.0gpa can hit it dead on.. along with the others..

i talked to one person who lives in sd they don't think much of chico, although i hear they are infamous for their parties? and for the ghetto aspect is it more of that due to it being near meth country and the boondocks per se, i'm pretty clueless of the areas their so if someone could back this up..

There aren't really frat parties as there arent many frats there.  There are several streets you can walk down every weekend and find parties.  I used to go to public parties which are all over and then often times Id just sneak into private parties.  It was rarely an issue as the people there are real cool for the most part.  Id show up claiming I know some random cat whose name I made up and get in.  Or just literally walk in through the front door. 

Ive heard the cops are getting more stringent though.  When I went there you could play loud music way late and carry cups of beer around from party to party without too much hassle.  I mean the cups had to be empty, but from what Ive heard they will give you shit for carrying around an empty beer cup now

Somewhat famous bands will sometimes play local parties, I once saw a few somewhat well-known bands (in certain circles) play at parties.  I also found a house that would bring in jazz musicians to play their parties which was tight.

That said it is a small town so if you like the lifestyle of LA, SF or NYC its definitely not that.  I used to love isla vista though I dont think I could go back to that lifestyle now that Im used to the city lifestyle again

yea chico would be the way to go. and with the red cups as long as you dont call attention to yourself youll be fine.
weekends start on thursdays and end monday. frat parties are sick one house has a stripper pole overlooking the volleyball court. and most of all there are literally smokin hot minimally dressed bitches like everywhere you look.... not kidding

nice thats awesome, yeah it seems so free over their . parties scattered everywhere down to earth fine ass bitches , thats my scene lol

but yeah i'm not too much into the city life myself, i'm looking to slow it down but really speed it up in terms of the partying.. thanks for the info man i appreciate it!

that's whatsup , thats what i'm looking for, all these colleges sound hella crazy! i can't find out when to apply for fall '10 for chico, doesn't even say on their website! i have the best possibility of getting into chico first. you go their man? how's the surrounding area, etc? or does the college life just revolve around parties everywhere ? that's cool with me if thats the deal though..

i went my freshman year. its hella nice out there lots of country and nature. not all parties it just has good ones
chico has a shitload to offer the only problem is finding enough time and energy to do it all. other than that socal is kinda weak and santa cruz is kinda like a not as cool chico

true, but their are enough parties to occupy your whole week right? i'm trying to step up my partying, in terms of quality. are the frats anything to look at ?

o dude the only thing u need to worry about your party life is that u need not party every night and do a lil school
but its a really nice area. quiet small town feel and they still have a mall
bidwell park is right by campus and its a great place to get hammed,blazed, or have a picnic.
the only not nice places are the meth communities on the outskirts of town and you really wont be around there ever

did you know anything about their greek life? they were saying on youtube that in the frat houses they wont let them drink anymore due to riots/rape/ods.. buzz kill.

and what did u see on youtube cuz if it was the riots of 08 thats really not chico life. that was my freshman year first time a riot broke out in chico since the 70s but its still party party party

nice i'm excited, i gotta join a frat its something i've been wanting to do for a bit now. its like guaranteed pussy/unlimited parties from what my cousins tell me.

i just saw all the parties and interviews with chico kids then the president came on and said theres been a hault to drinking due to the riots and overdoses etc..
