Senior at a University in Michigan that shall go unnamed :ashamed:
major - bio  minor - chem
although I'm about two classes short of a poly sci minor

Most likely going to grad school if I don't completely flake out and decide to tour the world instead.

Canterbury University NZ, Biology.

Say one thing I wanted to know - in America all bio degrees are 4 years right? Here in NZ a bio degree doesnt mean shit(three years and pretty easy) but I've heard that noone knows how our system works and a bio degree is a lot more respected over there.

At least thats what I'm hoping... can anyone comment on this? I dont really care, but it would be nice to know my $15,000US and three years of my life wernt a total loss.

For a BS in biology, it usually takes 4 years, though it could be done in 3 if you really pushed it.  I wouldn't say its an easy degree, but not the most difficult either.  It is, however, not worth very much here.  Biology degrees are typically good for either getting into med school or a PhD program.  At the very least, you should try to get a masters, but that still won't get you much.  With a BS, you might make 30-35K, a masters could get you 40-50K, a PhD 60-100K and an MD 200K+.  Those are just rough figures off the top of my head.

I'm getting my BS in Molecular Biology this year and am currently applying for numerous PhD programs.  The sweet thing about getting a PhD here, is that you typically get paid to do it.  Most of the programs I'm applying for offer full tuition, health care, and 20-25K stipends for living expenses.

Saginaw Valley State University here.

Double major in Electrical Engineering and Computer science.

Still have 3.5 more years after this semester, and damn these classes are hard.

~Peace Out

They only get harder - I got a minor in Computer Science from Miami of Ohio and it was a BITCH. Good luck, man

Yup, currently a junior. Chemistry major at UF (go gators!), but switching fast to microbiology. Calc 2 handed me my ass and all the trimmings. Planning on applying to med school next year and specializing in radiology, we'll see how that goes.
