is it worth my time to study chemistry/biology?

I'm going to study chemistry and biology but I'm not sure if it will be worthwhile or not.
obviously i would get at least a degree in something but I'm not sure what.
I think i might want to do something like environmental biology and conservation, is that hard to get a job with?
I'm just looking for some ideas/info.
Thanks

Start taking classes and see how well you like it and if you're even good at it. Then talk to your professors to get more information about the various, related fields.
edit to add:
I knew someone who had a masters in marine ecology, I think she worked for sea-world or some aquarium in cali, but after they moved here she became a housewife. Go figure.

Up to you man. I'm studying Bio right now. I'm not expecting much from my Bachelors. I'll either start a wierd job hunt with a Bach. in Bio, or go to grad school. Probably grad school.

I like going to school and science classes in particular. Unlike those guys ^ I cherish my education, even if I still end up being a career pizza deliverer, I dont regret going to college.
Of course chemisty/biology is a hard program to complete, your gonna need lots of dedication, but Im sure you know that.

Actually I love science, I can't imagine doing anything else with my time. You can only be who you are. Do what you love and you will be happy.

It's probably a more useful degree in the work world than my major(sociology). But even so, I don't regret my major, because it was fun and I enjoyed learning about it. Anything you can say that about, I'd say is worth it.

Getting a degree in any scientific filed, social, physical, natural or applied really requires getting beyond a BS to do the real cool stuff.
But im in gonna be in the same situation as Paradigm, a degree I love thats not very useful. Its a choice Im comfortable with.

from my experience college science was more about doing a shitload of busy work and grubbing for points than any sort of real learning
more about professors trying to fail you and weed you out of the major than actually encouraging you learn and understand a subject
for the most part college is only about getting that peice of paper, if you wanna learn you can do it on your own
just my opinion
Edit: however if you do want a a career in that field you best go for that piece of paper
