Don't know your financial situation, but don't let a 20 minute drive be a factor in this.

do you know what a community college is??? usually they end with "community college"... for example i used to go to Coconino Community College, and down in Phoenix there is Scottsdale Community College, Gateway Community College, etc...
id say OSU... and move close to there... both places are far...

distance shouldn't matter. You don't want to live at home anyways.

Is it possible to go to community college for a year or two in order to save money, and then transfer to OSU so you still get the prestigious degree?

Go to Ohio State, you will regret it if you don't...even if you do transfer. Just go to the University.

Thats what I'd do, if I could do everything over. Knock out your bullshit core classes at a 2 year school, get your assoicates degree, then transfer to a "real" college like OSU.

with most schools its actually easier to transfer from a community college than it is to be accepted straight from college. mainly due to people starting college and then finding out its "not for them" and getting bad grades and then dropping out. whereas community college kids are already weeded out and show a more precise pga of what they will be able to hold during the rest of their college stay.

My advice is to go to Ohio State and talk with an advisor. Figure out what you wish to major in, and work out which classes you need to take with your advisor.
Nows here the beauty. Columbus State and Ohio State are sister schools. Just about everything transfers.
So after you have all your Ohio State info. on the classes you need, shoot over to Columbus State and talk to an advisor there. (I believe it is in Aquinas hall, 2nd floor.) See what classes you can take at Columbus state that will directly transfer to Ohio State. You can take 1 1/2 to 2 years worth of your studies at Columbus State for half the price, and they will transfer to Ohio State with full credit.
That's what I did, and it saved me a shit ton of money and I will be getting my 4 year from OSU next spring.

If you think C's are good grades lol
when you transfer they dont tranfer the actual grade, they just say you completed the course and it doesnt effect your overall GPA at all...
