New to growing, need info on mycelium growth

This is my first grow, and sorry I dont have pics (my chip reader got crushed a few weeks ago). 

I inoculated the jars one week ago today. I used cubensis keepers creepers. 2 jars showed green fuzzy mold, 8 jars showed nothing, and 2 jars showed this grayish slime-looking stuff. 

My question is: Is the grayish slime-looking the mycelium, or should the mycelium be more of a white color?  Also, how long until I see something from the other 8 jars?  thanks for any info, ill get pics up when I can.

Greyish and slimy looking is not a good sign.

It should be white and furry looking. But without a picture it is hard to be 100% sure.

Germination should happen in a week but can take longer at times.

Where did you get the spores?

Should I keep the lids loose or tight for air exchange?

I have 1/2 pint jars with 4 holes in the top and foil covering that.  I cooked them for about 100 minutes, and there was still water in the cooker upon opening so I dont think they dried out.

That is your problem right there. That is a well known scam site. If you do a quick search on the forum you will find loads of bad stories about these guys.

I personally don't know if they do it on purpose but their products are so bad they contaminate more often than not.

Next time try one of the site sponsors

These guys have to produce good standard product or they get rejected as sponsors. And a lot of them are actually cheaper than sporestore.

Well, the last thing you can lose is hope.

But you'd save time by ordering a new syringe right now as chances are it won't work.

Doesnt sound good man
Those things went bad quick.  Though if your using a multi spore syringe, have it at the right temps/rh than you shouldnt have to wait much longer. 

Slime?  What did you use in the jars?  May just be to wet.

Honestly you should have positive growth after 5-6 days with a multispore, so if it gets to 10 12 days and still nothing I'd just start over.  You really gotta have the basics down pat for jars otherwise youll be risking all the other stages

Doesn't matter how good his procedures are, if he has a bunk syringe he won't get any results.

Just wait and see.

There have been cases of sporestore syringes working, maybe, sometimes.

Just hope you have been lucky.

I'd advise ordering another one just in case though, so you don't have to wait if they contaminate, you can just make up another batch fast.

He is right, no matter how good my set-up is, bunk spores ruin everything. 

I dont believe my jars are too wet, and I dont know if I would call the unknown growth "slime" if you will, but it is definately not furry.

I also ordered new spores from 'Lil Shop of Spores', cubensis B+, thanks to the sponsor page.  Hopefully by the time I get those rollin' I'll have a new chip reader to upload pics.

Thanks for the advice, I still have *some* hope for my current project.
