All bones splinter, all bones are bad. I wouldn't suggest any natural bone.

My veterinarian absolutely DOES NOT AGREE with you, in any way, shape or form.  Where ever did you read that all bones are bad for dogs?  They are an important source of readily available biologically alive calcium. Bio-available calcium, readily absorbed after eating.

That's why it's important that they NOT be coming from cooked meat.  When they are from cooked meat, and ONLY when they are from cooked meat, then you are absolutely right, they aren't good for an animal.

I've even fed my chickens raw fish.  SOmeone gave me 2 female surf-perch that were pregnant - they are live bearers.  I had a chicken who was having troubles laying eggs.  They were thin selled, mis-shapen, and she had difficulties.  The day after I fed her about 100 quarter-sized fishes her egg shells thickened up, the eggs stopped being malformed, and she stopped having problems.

If I had been feeding some sort of dead calcium, citrate or some such, it would have taken forever for her to absorb enough calcium to help.  So, bio-available calcium is very important.

But RAW?  My vet has me feeding my dogs chicken necks, and green cow-gut, so I'm sticking to the advice of people I KNOW know what they are talking about.

what are foods that are poisonous to dogs??? i know chocolate is fer sure but i still give it a tiny tiny piece every like blue moon n its still fine n dandy. i feed my dog all kinds of other chocolateless candies. it loves em. isnt there like some plant or something that dogs cant come in contact with?? n i kno theres more foods they cant come in contact with as well..

They actually make a chocolate candy, specifically for dogs.  They are lacking in an enzyme to break down the chocolate in their systems, so the doggie chocolates add that enzyme, so they can safely eat it.  Most animals can't safely digest chocolate for the same reason.

I've heard people say you can't feed a dog salmon, but that's just wrong and stupid.

The problem with salmon is that you can't feed it raw, otherwise the parasites the fish might have could kill the dog.

I'm careful with dogs.  I've been with friends who called the SPCA because we've watched people who constantly feed their dogs Kentucky fried chicken.  I watched as the SPCA pulled a dog out of its home, and they put him down - he was very sick from cooked chicken bones, peritonitis in a pit bull.  They didn't want to be bothered with the surgery, since they had a policy of NOT allowing pit bulls to be adopted out of their pound as pets.

It was a shame.  I wanted to go kick the owner's ass for him!  His dog attacked my chow chow, and I was NOT happy.  The police refused to take a report OR contact the SPCA, but it was okey to take a police report AGAINST ME, 'CUZ  I pepper-sprayed the pit bull to make it back off my Chow.

The pit was being taught that it was okey to attack people and other dogs.  I felt badly for the dog, that his owners were so ignorant that they encouraged the dog to attack people's legs from the knees down, to grab the cuffs of their pants and tear them up.

These people absolutely refused to keep their animal on a leash, and since it attacked my dog, since the owners were teaching it to attack people and animals, and since the police refused to take a report And ALSO refused to call the SPCA for ME, I put in as many as 3 or 4 calls a day, whenever I saw the dog running loose without a chain.  It culminated in my friend turning the owner in for the chicken bones.

Agreed, most mammal bones are fine for dogs as long as they are uncooked.

I know T-Bones are all right but what about New York stake bones?

Is there a rule what kind of bones to give your dog?  I know chicken is out of the question and pork ribs.  What is cool for my dog to eat?

I've never heard of a "stake" bone. What the fuck is a "stake" bone?

Or is your spelling ability so poor that you mean a "steak" bone?

millions of years of canine history disagrees as well, of course I
give raw and cooked bones to my dogs and never once has there been
an issue with choking, splintering or anything else
