There's just something about music..
    #10788376 -

honestly,

listening to music is the only thing that:

a) makes me be HERE and NOW
b) takes away all my physical pain and mental fatigue
c) makes me optimistic and excited, no matter what.
d) allows me to close my eyes and breathe...

its like medicine in a sense isn't it?

I listen to music from the second i wake up to the second i pass out. On my computer, in the car, walking through the city on an MP3 player.

It chills me out so much, makes me far less irritable and in a generally better mood.

It's like a drug for me and im most certainly addicted :crazy2:.

music is so amazing,
its kind of strange too..
how is it that we perceive music as sounding good or bad?
I mean we must have had the ability to judge music before it even existed.

When humans first came to be what could possibly have been heard that would result
in the evolution of musical judgement.. surely all they heard were animals,
water, wind, etc

I guess it could be the same principle that makes visual patterns of color a beautiful sight
even though they're never seen in nature

:blazed:
which makes me think even more, how does weed make music so much better?
maybe it could just lend more brain power to process sound

oh jeez

it's all a matter of perception, everything we see and hear and feel is just interpreted by eletrical transmitters - and music is just electricity entering our souls

electric church.

I love music too.
Without it, life would be rather.... quiet.

good music calms me down more then smoking weed does sometimes,  but commercial music tends to fuck with my head in a bad way,  like when I go shopping or somethin g :tinfoil:

guys, i'm going out on a limb here, but-

MUSIC IS SAFER THAN WEED!

(although really, its not, when you have little kids listening to gangster rap and thinking its ok to shoot people and refer to all women as hoes)
I say its the kids' parents fault.
eminem is good.

They say ev'ry man needs protection,
They say ev'ry man must fall.
Yet I swear I see my reflection
Some place so high above this wall.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
I shall be released.

I love the Bible so much, so I ponder its pages daily.

There was a time king Saul was tormented by an evil spirit, and it was told him that a boy named David had a talent with his harp, so david came in and played songs he'd written to his Shepherd, when he was shepherding sheep all day long, every day for years. When he played for Saul, the word says the evil spirit left him immediately and he was soothed. I think that's quite a portrayal of music's medicinal ability.

I've felt it too. Tool, puscifer, saosin, thrice, derek webb, sandra mccracken, old hymns, the soundtrack to the documentary "Home"

Ancient Man
How sweet it was, her teeth against my throat
I'm a ghost gone mad, and angel in the dopesmoke

feeling like an ancient man
I got heaven, I got hell in my hand

This radiation spills from my heart
darkness come, darkness come,
darkness fall apart

Saw my reflection in the river of blood
sister sky, whispered to her mother the end

The pale child that was left behind haunts me endlessly
I can smell the churches burning, I can hear the fire's melody

and you're moving for me, baby, so gracelessly
I envy the night, for it's absence of light

"I envy the night, for it's absence of light" (an interpretation:)
meaning ultimately there is no difference between ANYTHING. To judge a difference between anything is the human condition. "Where could god be, but in everything?" "God" is EVERYTHING, including the devil

"Innocent magic is stronger than evil" - your idea of sin makes baby jesus cry
