With Teeth sounded like more of the typical NIN sound.

Other tracks were great on the CD.

And you want something that will compel you to listen to it again and again? Try The Mars Volta. Either Frances the Mute or Deloused in the Comatorium. Both are addictive.

dunno.. i dont listen to any of these bands. i used to like green day in elementary though and the new album sucks compared to those earlier ones

Well, now I've listened to it more, I think the new Weezer is actually pretty good. Could be better but it's alot better than the last two. I guess it's the best album they can make without Matt Sharp.

Sunspots is an ok song. The New Wave vacuum cleaner is interesting.

I think that the new SOAD is really weak, and the single BYOB, just plain sucks ass in my opinion. The new NIN however, Is awesome. My take on Trents music is horribly biased though, Trent could record his own explosive diarrhea and I would enjoy it.

Don't have much to say about KMK, all they do is rap about smoking weed, so does the rest of the free fuckin' world. Don't have much to say about any of that mainstream shit either. My reply was mostly with regards to Phish. Yeah, their last album wasn't that great (with the exception of "Song I Heard the Ocean Sing"), but I would definately check Trey's new shit, caus' "Night Speaks to a Woman" is fuckin' bomb.

YES! The Arcade Fire are awesome, unique and below the mainstream radar. Funeral is a great CD, highly recommended.

I thought Guero was OK, I would have like to have seen Beck go in a different direction stylistically, maybe like seachange but not so depressing. Much of the songs on Guero sound like Mutations rejects. But I do agree it grows on you.

I think Green Day is over-hyped, and they're being played way too much on the radio. Past their prime imo.

I still have Rapture's Echoes permanently inserted in my CD changer, awesome band, can't wait for their new shit.

I got the Bravery debut album on Amazon (used). Definitely very catchy and the guitars are great. But I'll wait for their second album before posting serious judgement.

I think that band Cold Play? sucks like no tomorrow, Those guys are horrid and they play them on tv all the time.
I also hate hearing them promote Stevie Nicks on the radio for her annual July concert, shes singing 30 yr old Fleetwood Mac songs for heavens sakes.
Id rather get my ass beat to a pulp by Rono :evil: than go hear her cigarette ravaged voice
Hell at least Rono isnt fat and hes still kinda pretty in a faggish way :smirk:

I agree with you HELLA, but...

the major labels cater to "demographics." This means that when they're looking for music to publish on a large scale, they're looking for bands that they can push towards certain demographics - angry teens, cheesy teens, middle aged truckers, whatever - and the fact that they look for defining qualities in a band's sound often means we end up with shitty music that has no breadth or depth...and the underground music scenes, all of them, give way more bands a chance...but yes, most of those bands are shitty too.

I'm talking about the band's intent, and their marketers' intent. The band can hope their music reaches a certain audience, but if they're making music for the sake of making music anyone can get into it. I like a bunch of angry music and I'm hardly an angry person. But when a major label marketing wing gets a hold of a young band full of anger, they turn it into a whole gimmick aimed at young angry teens. Do you see the difference? It dilutes everything..
