A question for someone who speaks spanish.
    #10614761 -

Am I misinterpreting, or is the word for no importance the same as the term for swimming?

I've got a knack for picking up languages, but something about Spanish really seems to throw me off. :blush:

la mujer es gorda, el hombre es alto, el gato es basso

I don't know much spanish but it's really easy (I also speak french natively so it may be why, it has a lot of similarities)

Nada: nothing: a quantity of no importance

I've never heard "nadando" used for swimming, only nada. Maybe it's a matter of dialect though. :shrug:

The verb's infinitive is "nadar".
He swims->el nada
Nothing->nada
He's swimming->esta nadando
Swimming->Natacion

So "nada" is used at the same as the word "nothing" and in the present (third person) of the verb "nadar".

spanish has a lot of stuff like that, as in poder, which can mean power as a noun, or to be able to as a verb.

I guess it's much easier for people born with a latin language! And the younger you learn, the better.

I speak very little Spanish, but I've always liked how esposas means both wife and handcuffs.

I'm not quite getting that one. Something about eating and changing sexuality.......eating mushrooms make shroomerites gay, is that it? Is hongos mushroom? I'm not sure what "piences" means either.
