Conversations with a spanish person
    #3462686 - 12/08/04 12:09 AM (19 years, 2 months ago)

So i'm on Soul Seek downloading a live show from The Joe Perry Project of all bands, for my Aunt, and the guy who i'm downloading from asks me a question in Spanish. I do not speak Spanish. At first, I thought he was someone else, then I tried to tell him that I didn't speak Spanish. Then I thought it would be cool to see if I can talk to this dude.

I went to one of those online translators and now i'm having a conversation with a person who speaks a completely different language than me. All I do is copy and paste the spanish translation of my message.

I hear that these things are not very acurate, but he seems to know what i'm talking about. I can barely make out what he's saying, but the translator is helping a little. I was going to copy and paste our little back and forth, but Soul Seek shut down and I lost it.

this remind me of a kids in the hall sketch, one of them is on the phone and asks everyone else in the office if anyone speaks spanish, one guy walks up and says here, takes the phone starts listening, you hear him go Mmhmm I see, uh-huh.. ok... hands back the phone and says nope

So the guy who says "nope" is symbolic of the crappy translator that i'm trying to use?

no... he's just a guy who thought he might be able to speak spanish but upon trying,... can't

the translator your using would best be syboliised by the phone they are using.... or something

I think the guy who says "nope" best symbolizes the translator, because he is what the guy who recieves the call in The Kids In The Hall uses to try to communicate with. I'm using this online translator to communicate with.

See what I mean?

yeah, there are massive amounts of people from Spain & Portugal on slsk, for whatever reason - they like sending people messages and talking about the discoteca. it's cool.

"mi musicia" - I see that alot when I browse people.
