geography/geology majors!
    #4990978 - 11/28/05 05:59 PM (18 years, 4 months ago)

help!

I'm near failing my geography class, well I would be failing if we'd done anything yet.  But point is, I'm about to fail.  I have an assignment about rocks and dirt due next monday worth 50% of my mark and on the same day is my midterm 20%, thats 70% in one day :frown:

So this is the thing, I know I'm a smart person, but I don't get the rocks and the dirt. I can't tell the difference in stratification, I don't know what lithology is, I don't see unconformities in bedrock and don't know why it matters if it conforms or not.

As for the exam, my proff said its going to be based on the things he says in class. The problem here is I never know when he says anything important because he never writes anything down and he talks about beer and these personal ancedotes :/ too bad I've done all the homework and read the textbook and am still lost.

I have a study group for the class and none of us get it, right now we're all hoping he bellcurves, so if we do mediocore, we'll be ok.

Anyways, does anyone want to come help me????

That didn't help me.

Seriously, I'm really regretting taking this course right now, and I can't drop it and take it in the summer, cuz I won't have enough credits to stay on my program then.

as shitty as it sounds, consider a cheat sheet.. and if you're too honest for that, flash cards. i did my best studying with flash cards. cuz u learn the stuff by writiing it on the cards. then cement it in oyur brain by constantly reviewing them...get some coke and pull an all night cram fest.

I think Gijith is a scientist. He has a degree in some science related stuff (ironically...I think he has mentioned geology in the past). Seuss (the administrator) is a physicist or something like that I believe. Catalysis is a biomedical engineer...maybe he took some geology class.

You might try to PM these guys.
