 how important is aesthetic buetity in having good life?

how important/vital is it to have beautifulness in our lives and what's its role (as in viewing nature and listing to music and all that)?

it could be considered pretty important. its role is to attract a mate like in the animal kingdom. but now we dont need good looks just money. women prefer money i think.

ok, i'm gonna edit my question, cuz i meant viewing beauty - as in nature, people, nice cities, artwork, music that sounds nice, etc. - not having good looks...

think about it this way - what is life? is it just a concept? or is it a string of experiences that are felt with or without concepts?
I would say the latter, essentially.
and thus beauty is what makes life.
but its not as simple as that. because everyone sees beauty differently. If you are in love with someone, they could look beautiful even if everyone thinks theyre not. If some place is your home, then it can seem much more pleasing to someone who just saw it as another house.
So even though aesthetic beauty is important to having a good life, you cant just seek beauty because what was once beautifil will not remain so unless there are also other layers of meaningfulness to keep your mind from getting bored

Ah, man. I had an awesome answer for when I thought it was the other way around.
In this case, even though beauty is in the eye of the beholder, people want to surround themselves with beautiful things. I think it's probably essential in having a good life.

Maybe instead of asking if aesthetic beauty is important, ask if it is even avoidable.
Everything with form has an aesthetic, and with the right eyes you can find beauty everywhere.
I would answer your question by saying that, yes, it is important to have aesthetic beauty for a good life, but that it come from the looking, and not from the seen.
It is important to look at the world with beauty in your vision.

Yeah, imho recognizing beauty is recognizing the 'fitting' parts into 'the' (ones) world. The things how they work 'good' together.
As everyone knows, 'beauty' is a subjective term.
So, it is what one recognizes, what lets subjectively fit the world together.
There is no objective 'ugliness' else than that one caused by human altogether

I think its one of those things we live for..
or die for..
if we understand that everything is consciousness , then it goes to follow that existence is much more enjoyable if we strive to create beauty to please our perception.
The question proceeds - why it is that we deem certain things more beautiful than others ?
