transkei bucket

a small 2 gallons bucket with shabbily done holes covered with micropore , since its too hot these days (+30 celcius ) it is not neglect tek , tried to give more fae and mist whenever im around ,

ms innoced 2 quarts colonized millet - wheat berries substrate depth 2.5 inch  ,  cased with %80verm -%20 coir



shitty pinset i'm aware , the bucket was letting a lot of light , can see some side pinning  have to cover the buckets with something next time i use them .

misted a lot at a point so some caps have the beginning of bacterial blotch i guess.

remove the micropore tape and replace with loose polyfill and an oscilating fan moving air around the room. Micropore will only allow gas exchange.

coir is a great bulk sub, you should have spawned it to a coir/coffee/verm mix instead of using the coir to case with. That is why its pretty much colinsied your casing layer.

i know the use of coir , but when you don't have peat moss in hand nothing to do , so i diluted the coir , instead of a pure verm casing it is still better , and about the overlay i can't really call it overlay it is only whispy mycelium so casing still functioning . got another bucket which is rye spawned to coir 1:1  the same amount of substrate and bucket . will put polyfill at second flush dont want to bother with it right now . Peace

Also if you don't want to use polyfill and are still looking for a tape use some like coaches sports tape, it is breathable tape works well..  Tip from FooMan..

I've seen the bucket teks where people used shower caps as a 'lung' to facilitate FAE.  Just pull it up some to inflate, then push down to 'breathe' it, then pull up again.  Fresh air while maintaining humidity.
