My San Pedro is finally pupping!

Hey, I just wanted to tell you my San Pedro is finally pupping!

I cut its head off back in december because there was weird mold in it and 5 months later it finally pups!

Here's a (shitty quality, I'll take a macro shot later) pic: (the pup is the pale green thing a bit at the left coming out of an areole)

Watching it getting bigger and bigger after every day is going to be awesome!

When the meristem/apex (sp?) is badly hurt it pups automatically since it can't grow normally anymore. All it needs is sun and water basically.

I'm really excited about this pup since it has been doing nothing for 5 months :laugh:, and I just noticed this today

Sorry to bump but I have a few questions...

How fast do new pups grow?

Is it normal for it to be pale green?

Pups just sit there for awhile, then they tend to grow in bursts.

Pupping turns the rootstock to crap eventually though, IMO... cactus-cork is nobodys friend. :p

too many variables to answer this really.
environmental factors to start with and physical factors such as how big the root system is certainly play a big part.
it is normal for fresh pups to paler than the existing column.
