San Pedro Help

Hi!

At last, i've found a local store that carries San Pedro and peyote cacti!  :grin:

The one i got most interested in was a Pedro that consisted in a cutting layed onto the substrate horizontally. From that cutting comes out a big column with ~ 2 feet, and three cute little pups (3-4 inches long). The pups and the column aren't touching each other. The price for this cactus is 60?.


My questions are:

If i cut the big 2 feet column to consume this summer, will i injure the rest of the cactus?

Will it do fine indoor, in my room by the window, without any type of dedicated artificial lightning? (besides the light i use for myself when it's dark, of course)

I don't really mind if it doesn't grow fast. As long as it doesn't die it's fine with me. If it can provide another dose in 1-2 years, i'll take that as a cool bonus :smile:

Also should i cut above the soil level, so that the wound is exposed to air?
Or underneath the soil level, and then cover the wound with soil?

I cut mine above the soil level and I do it at an angle so that water from rain does not collect in the wound(it will shink in a bit). Pups should form from the cut end next year.
