The Irony of being high.
    #10063201 -

I don't know about you guys but when I'm high I just think of brilliant shit. But the irony is that I'm always too high to write down or remember my brilliant ideas.

It's like everytime I get high I'm like. Oh shit all of lifes secrets are hidden in our brain and drugs bring them out. They show you your shadow.

I think our brains are basically recording our thoughts and emotions throughout life and when we die our personal conciousness is released into all of our collective unconciousness and we experience oneness with everything.

But when I'm "not" high I don't really understand what that means...

So ya I feel like when I'm high I'm learning all this important information about life and existence but the irony is that I'm forgeting it all because of the effects of weeds short term memory loss. So it's like being stoned is pointless for making my sober life better.

Does anyone understand what I'm trying to say?

Your ideas sound brilliant at the time but really they're not...

you're just high.

That's why it's considered a hallucinogen.

That's exactly what I keep telling myself when I'm sober but then when I get high I think otherwise.

And yes I'm baked right now

You really can. Strong indicas with low tolerance can often turn more "psychedelic" and you can get visuals, not fullblown like LSD or Mushies or anything but visuals none the less.

Ya me too. I swear everytime I get high I seem to have a huge epiphany but I'm sad because I know I will forget it when I'm sober and will think it was just a crazy high thought.

Umm PulkAudio2...Not bullshit, you surely can trip off weed. Marijuana has hundreds of different alkaloids in it (other than THC which is a hallucinogenic alkaloid). After you smoke continuously for about 2 weeks your body becomes  immune to the effects of THC. Once immune to the THC you are then getting high from the manny other alkaloids in the weed (which tend to have a wide range of effects including... sedative, depressant, stimulating, and intoxicating effects. Manny stoners are so used to the high from weed they no longer know the plants true essence, they just know it makes them chill out and be what they call "normal". How bout this, you quite smoking for a good month, get a good strain of mostly a pure sativa, smoke an 1/8th straight out of a vaporizer and then try telling me weed isn't a hallucinogen. I've had several weed trips that easily compare to a good shroom high.

Remember: smoke weed, don't let weed smoke you. MAybe youll actually learn something from it.

And POPART: I for sure know were your coming from. That smart wave you get when your high is not strictly nonsence that should be looked past. It's another dimension that can only be understood by feeling/experience not words. So when you use words to try to explain it you lessen the true reality behind the experience thus getting closed minded replies like what JRayV said. Dont believe all you've been taught. If you felt it it was real, weather or not it makes sence later. No-one can teach you that what you felt was bullshit; So weather or not you had these experiences is for you to decide, not science.

Ohn no sir, you are not the only one. Its just speaking of this either goes nowhere or tends to loop itself. The best way to keep these experiences is to keep your mouth closed and your mind open. Remember that these experiences were real and that the person doubting obviously did not have them, so why even speak of it.

You are not able to think as quick as you are able to experience, your mind will always be one second behind the experience itself. You can never truly explain it or write it down because, by the time you put the pen to the pad the moments over an a new ones arrived. Even if you could write it down you couldn't use it as a permanent reference point to regain that feeling because you would be thinking of the past and missing the now.

I think the experience is enough in and of itself, and being able to articulate it into words is just a plus.

That's what makes being high so great. It's a state of conciousness no sober person understands. And all the thoughts that arise when high can't be properly recorded or spoken of.

It's like my high self and sober self are battling over my mind. I know I can think up brilliant things when I'm high but the thoughts are stuck in my head and I can't get them out.

My sober self always thinks I'm full of shit when I'm high but then I am humbled quickly after smoking a couple bowls and just thinking.

I think music and art help my sober mind understand my high mind a little bit better. I like to pour out my mind on paper when I'm high and then look at it when I'm sober and try to understand myself better.

the way we perceive reality is through our 5 senses...

drugs, as we all know, change our perceptions.
helping us to perceive whats really going on.

when we're high we can come very close to describing it with words.. because we can sort of use all of our senses differently/together/better or however it works out, but when we sober up the words can't spark that same idea again... without the idea, the words are rendered useless.

when we get scared on shrooms or acid or even weed, its because we're seeing whats really there. its not showing us bad stuff or giving us a bad trip. its not even stuff we aren;t ready for... its just bringing us a little bit closer to knowing whats really going on.  And yeah, that can be a pretty scary thing.
