well, it was obvious Ron Paul would never win.  but in the extreme hypothetical situation that he did, there still absolutely no certainty that this wouldn't have happened.  as supernovasky said, there is the possibility that the dispensary was doing some side dealing.  and there's also the possibility that this is a completely unsanctioned act of insubordination on the part of the DEA, in which case it doesn't matter who the pres is.
