FORT MYERS - Authorities say they arrested 17 people in their late teens and early 20s that caused about $75,000 in damage at a foreclosed Fort Myers home during a party over the weekend.

Deputies responded to a call about possible burglary Friday evening and found several vehicles in the home's driveway. Deputies say people inside tried to flee when they saw law enforcement, but their vehicles were blocked in. Deputies inspected the home and found that every room had some type of destruction, including broken windows, smashed plaster and graffiti.

The 10 minors at the party were charged with loitering and prowling and possession of alcohol by a minor. Seven adults were charged with 10 counts each of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of loitering or prowling.

Let's see. . .If an NRA member did the same thing, would you say the same thing about the NRA? How about if they were a member of 'this or that church'? I may be a trade union member, but what I do and how I conduct my affairs are not connected to my union, nor a reflection on them.  By the way, I own my home free and clear.  When the so-called housing boom was going on, the mrs and I stayed in our mold infested condo until we paid off the mortgage, and then sold it and paid cash for our cabin in the mountains.  We owe nobody anything.  I don't make excuses for those who took out sub-prime mortgages, because I worked with them and had many arguments over the years, with them calling me stupid for not cashing in on the boom.  They're all on the streets now, and we're cozy and warm in our paid-for house. 

I'm just saying you're stretching your own credibility to blame a voter registration group because one of their members exercised poor financial judgment.

The NRA is a fund raising organization devoted to the republican party, and by your own reasoning, other right wing/white supremacist groups, and ACORN takes the other side.

Patrick Sherrill was an NRA member and NRA handgun safety instructor who murdered 14 people at the post office in Edmond, OK., and was responsible for the coining of the term 'going postal'  By your standards of reasoning, the NRA should have been indicted for murder, yet no reasonable person demanded that.  In addition, I live right on the border with northern Idaho, which just happens to be a neo-nazi/white supremacist haven.  Nearly every car has an NRA sticker on one side and a swastika on the other side.  That's why I say 'by your reasoning', one would have to agree that the NRA supports white neo-nazis.  However, any reasonable person would find that equally preposterous to blaming Acorn for a corrupt employee who was stealing money from the organization.

I'm a fiscally conservative gun owner who believes VERY strongly in the 2nd amendment, but wouldn't give five cents to the NRA.  Obama won the election by a landslide(365-173), so all the crying about liberals, ACORN, RICO, and criminals isn't going to get you anything but a hanky to wipe the tears.
