is it safe to touch the jars? i mean pick it up and look.

yeah its alright...i usually take all my jars out once a day to check on the progress and check for contams..just dont expose them to light too much.

No ! They bite  , really hard to .
I'm, just messing with you . Yes you can handle the jars , but I would reccomend that you always wash with antbac soap first , wipe jars with alcohol before opening to birth or do transfers , whatever the case may be . We aslo wear surgical mask , but are very protective and cautious .
Do not mess with them so much though that you expose them to too much light , may cause premature pinning .
Patience ......they will grow !

had no problems yet, I just try to ensure that I'm very clean and just because I'm slightly paranoid by nature, I give a good spritz of lysol to the room air before I open my friend's incubator. No problemo! :cool:
