Drying your mushies

Well alot of people may disagree with this tek but I just invented it and I know that it may work, if anybody has a few buddies lying around umm I mean you just picked them, try this drying tek, I was walking by my DRYER- yes DRYER, 3 days ago and a big ass light came on in my head, I have a fluff no heat setting on it so heres what I did.

1. youll need a plastic container about the size of a bowl, the more, more buddies to dry.
2. place toilet paper in the bottom(it seems unused works better here)
3. place your buddies in the container
4. place more toilet paper over top, try not to use the scented shit.
5. poke about ten holes on the top and the bottom, they should be no bigger than a dime. tape the lid on good, use packing tape it sticks hellagood
6. Well put them in the dryer with the no heat setting only and also place 3 or 4 towels in with them.
7. turn on for bout a half hour than check them.
those little light plastic ziplock containers are the ones I am currently using.

Now i am currently drying a batch of buddies in there as i type this so i will let you know how it goes. Use dryer at your own risk, I also have a low heat setting but havent checked the temp yet. If this works I will call this. Mojo's Dryer Tek

Think if you added "bounce" (flame me I spelt this wrong first time round ) they'd stay soft and fluffy with no static cling ? Sorry had to say it !
Serious question here ........ Were they all beat to pieces , from the tumbling action ?

I think even low heat would be detrimental to the pscilocybin content of the shrooms. I wouldn't fuck with that drying method; you could easily lose 50% of the potency.

Yeah bounce works J/K, actually the no heat setting is around 70 (room temp) I also forgot to mention that I steralized the dryer by spraying a little bit of lysol, cleaning all lint, and placing some cotton balls with h202 in with them on the top layer of toilet paper, they are still in there as we speak. I wouldnt expect them to be any more fucked up than they are after picking because the tp barriers hold them in place.

heat and potency: wtf?

some folks say that mushrooms properly dried will last a year or more. so at what exact temperature will potency start to decline? is it 60 F? 70? 80? 90? 100? 120? 200? if someone lives in a climate where the temperature sometimes reaches 100, does that mean the day that the temp reaches 100 all their mushies are useless? and why does tea seem to work so well?

until someone can present some facts, my friend will continue using the low setting (95F) on his dehydrator, keep getting excellent results, and quit worrying about it.

I second the dehydrator use works awesome the one I have is a Snackwell from Walmart and can set at 95 with awesome results :tongue:

Well the tp didnt work so hot Im going to try using paper towels will let you know what happens.

I disagree. I use a food dehydrator at 95 degrees Farenheit to dry my boomers and they definitely do not lose any potency in the process. My current grow of PF Hawaiians has proven to be the MOST potent cubensis strain I've grown yet. I took 3.2 grams dried on Monday thinking it would be a light trip (I usually dose 4 grams for a "normal" trip)...boy was I wrong! These shrooms are very potent...3.2g of the Hawaiians was comparable to 9.5 grams of the Mazatapecs I had this summer. AMAZING strain as far as potency. Nice overall trip too. Not as visual as the Mazzies were...but still a nice ride.

I'm sticking with my dehydrator...works fine for me and I highly recommend anyone to use them. Your shrooms are ready to go in under 12 hours usually and dehydrators are easy to keep clean.
