The act of drying mushrooms is a capatalistic driven device, fueled by the male human urge for dominancy, priced and packeged, brought to the masses through the astounding human discovery/invention of cultivation, which inturn brought about a turning point in human development which has led to the invention of internet world-wide communication resources and not to mention all those basement cultivation kits.

Basically,
No Law, No civlization, No humans, No drying.

(sorry if I didn't make any sense, I tend to do that sometimes)

the wasson article on sabina and his mushroom journey to mexico in LIFE spoke not of drying but eating them fresh (well, picked during the day and eaten at nite). nothing about drying them (not saying they didnt, but it wasnt mentioned).

I don't think she ate too many. I think she knew exactly how many were necessary to reach the level of enlightment she was seeking. Nausea is just a price you pay sometimes. It all depends on what you are seeking to find. Mild trips are nice and enlightening in their own way. However, in order to reach true ego death and reach the place the shaman's seek, I believe higher doses are necessary.

Maria Sabina had her own beliefs. Her own convictions. I believe she was a curandera(a healer). She's from a different culture. I don't believe she was into christianity.Maybe her views of the all mighty are quite different than yours.Same thing goes for the ancient tribes. They had a completely different view of the world and of God or Gods as is the case often. This is where I step back and I do not judge.
All of the things you mentioned are posssible. I imagine that mushrooms do different things for different people.I like to think that for me they open doors into my own psyche. The mind is an amazing thing.Very powerful. But I also believe the mushrooms themselves carry a message. Almost like a wisper through time.
I imagine for those of us that are sensitive to spiritual thing, they could also open those doors.I have to admit, I have wondered that myself. This can be good or it can be bad.( or good and bad.) Some people state that mushrooms allow them to meet with god.I'm not sure what they mean as I have never met god during a trip. Maybe next time!! They can also allow you to simply see the thruth as you stated. So, it's probably a very individual thing, and I imagine all things are possible.
