when storing dryed mushies

is it better to vaccum the bag or put co2 in the bag and if the bag is vaccumed sealed then could the be refridgeated ? is it better to put them the the refridge or jus keep them in a dresser draw when sealed?

I presume you are making reference to edible mushrooms because the other stuff is a no-no in the U.S. So if you are storing your dried edible mushrooms in a vacuum sealed package, they will keep for a long, long time. The only draw back is that plastic is very porous, and over time, the integrity of the plastic deteriorates. If you are going to store them for a long period of time, i would recommend storing them in a glass canning jar. Just vacuum seal the jar if your vacuum sealer permits it. If it does not, the vacuum sealed package will suffice!

If you are going to store them for a long time use a large jar with a desicant bag hanging inside....not touching the mushrooms of course.

my friend pleezr uses tea bags.....he takes the tea out and puts desicant in.

seems to work very good!

After they are cracker dry... Just put em in a dry,clean mason jar.
