White mold on drying mushies?
    #1378574 - 03/15/03 04:20 PM (15 years, 2 months ago)

Hey there, Dr. X has been trying to dry his mushies using a dessican't, (unintentional pun), but he noticed his fan has been doing a 10x better job. However, some of his mushies got a tiny of white fuzz around the cap and some of the stem.... it's very small, just a small white growth, and doesn't smell at all..... would this still be safe to eat, it just the harmless little mold like on bread?

Was the white fuzz on the fruits before harvesting? It so it is only mycelium and perfectly safe.

No, that's the thing: I think this is that same white mold you see on bread when it gets old... I'm hoping it's just a harmless little mold.
