difficulty of cultivation?
    #9670461 -

so, SWIM has had an almost impossible time finding shrooms, even with fairly good luck finding other psychadelics.  he was wondering how hard it is to cultivate shrooms on his own with no prior experience?

how hard is it to obtain spores from an oline source?  is it as simple as 1 - 2, order - receive?  how much can spores expect to run up?

will he fail much in his cultivation process with no prior experience in cultivation?

how much of a yield can he expect in dried quantity?

as long as you don't live in a state where spores are illegal you just have to order its as easy as that. cultivation is fairly easy if you read a lot and follow procedures EXACTLY and the yield depend on what method you use to grow them

No one has experience when they start this hobby.

Check out one of the Shroomery sponsors like Ralphsters, Sporeworks, etc. You can get a spore syringe for around $10-15. You can use cash, credit card, money order, whatever.

I wouldn't even think about yields at this point.

Bottom line, use the search function and research every aspect of growing before you get started. It will save you a lot of time and money in the long run.

seems like a reasonable price.  i guess swim will get one syringe and see what he can do with that.

he has already done a fair amount of research, but i am sure he would look into it alot more before he actually got started.

Come up with a plan and check and recheck it then post it and we can help you refine it.

You can expect to spend about $150ish as a respectable startup cost without cutting corners too much and get a decent yield.

If you take the time to learn to make liquid cultures, and it's  pretty simple, my grandmother can do it.

You can convert a small sample of spores into a virtually unlimited supply.

If you manage your cultures right and do a lot of research, one spore syringe could yield you oz's a month for the next year.

Cultivation is very easy. Your yields and your chances of success all depend on you and whatever method you choose to use.

I'll give you the following advice and I hope you listen to it:

*Don't waste your time learning the PF tek - PF is complicated, has a high rate of failure, and gives shitty yields. Learning to use liquid cultures on bird seed, and then casing the birdseed is just one step away from doing bulk tubs. It's so easy you'll wonder why you ever wasted your time doing pf jars. Plus you can grow effectively unlimited amounts of shrooms.

*Buy "The Mushroom Cultivator" by Paul Staments- This book will tell you everything you need to know about shrooms and growing them. It will be an invaluable resource in addition to the shroomery.org

An oz a month?!

One cup of LC could make 6 of these:

There really is no upper limit aside from your motivation and space to grow in.

I'm gonna disagree with you here nunbuh, pf tek /w plastics is easy and fast.  I just dislike the big complicated high maintenance fruiting chambers that only hold a couple little cakes.

Take those same cakes, and spawn to bulk and then you're talkin!  Good yields, cheap, easy, low maintenance.
