Perhaps you can clear up some questions I have regarding that... (you're a lot more well-versed in quantum physics than I am).

When we say that a microcosmic event is inherently probabilistic, does that mean that our best current model for describing the event can only assign a probability, or that we have conclusively proven that no further prediction of an underlying pattern is possible?
