The Spirituality of Evolution

ha,ha,ha----this is actually a test to keep the mods on their toes with this whole "evolution is not philosophical" debate. Anyway.....I guess I better come up with a question of substance now.......hmmmmmmm.....let me think.....oh yeah.....

If science could prove beyond doubt that evolution is in fact valid (actually it already has but some refuse to believe the obvious) and then science proved beyond doubt that God exists (don't ask me how on that one)......do you think the extremists would still deny the other? In other words, would the hard core creationists continue denying evolution and the hard core evolutionists continue denying God?

I actually feel this is going on today. In my feeble mind I feel that both have been shown to be valid yet the extremists feel the other view threaten theirs.

A science forum is for facts, Evolution is still in the theoretical stage( although it is the most scientific of current theories).Therefore it is still up for philosophical discussion.

You say that evolution is still theoretical.....let me ask you.....what makes something a fact.

I promise you that what ever definition you give of "fact"....evolution will meet those requirements.

Remember the whole Sun revolves around the Earth thing way back when.......the facts were screaming in the peoples faces but they somehow got the idea that it threatened the premises of religion and God. Now everyone thinks it was so silly and we can't even remember why they were so threatened. This is where we are now with evolution. All the facts are screaming at us. All the evidence is clear. But we silly humans think it will debunk religion. Maybe we need to evolve a little more. (no pun intended)

P.S. Thank you God for making me more evolved than those who don't believe.

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.
