That's a cool idea, but I see a few potential problems with it. With fruit, as you mentioned with the fast decay time, would work against you harbouring contamination and probably fruit flies. Also, for casings, you are more or less trying to synthetically produce what is found in nature, ie peat, sand, spagnum moss maybe and other things. Therefore you are most likely to gain when using something similar to this. I have experienced great success with compost, which would in all probability contain decomposed fruit, but that by itself I do not think would work.

Hopefully if anyone else has tried anything like this they'll reply. I'm just going based on books and other resources.

TRy adding some Dimethyltriptamine (DMT) containing plant source to your substate...

Shrooms are DMT to 4-HO-DMT dynamos!

They don't give a flying rats ass where the DMT comes from, they just LUV to 4-HO- things, believe me!

Do you have any suggestions as to which plants containing DMT, and how to add them to substrate/casings?

Since the Vermiculite debate started in this board I have been asking myself the same question and I have found that you CAN grow on many things... I have seen cooked brown rice and other grains that work well by themselves... Just try something and experiment and then if its sucessful, post your results then everybody knows its possible.
