it almost seems like a fantasy...running through the streets and raising hell...we couldn't be so lucky...

seriously...how long could it really last? this would be more likely to happen if we were invaded by another country in the midst of a financial fallout...it would have to culminate form more that one major event...that would have to happen at or near the same time...

i'm already broke.  but if the shit hits the fan, i know everyone will share their food with me...  its just a financial crisis, the planet's food, etc. is fine

i know i could buy a small island for less than 50k, but i would need alot more to have a large enough island + my house/compound + everything to set it up to be efficient.

you might know some people that will share, but dont overestimate people that are worried about food running out.  most people would not share outside of their own families.

I love how people think that food just magically shows up at the local grocery store as if people weren't paid to bring it there in vehicles that cost money, powered by fuels that cost money, and eventually kept fresh via the utility's company.

Yeah, I've been picking up bags of rice, bean soup, and random canned goods every time I go grocery shopping. Ive also got 30 cans of skyline chili my grandmother mailed me as a nostalgia present. Those things must have at least 1500 calories in every can.

If nothing happens, at least Ill be set on dry goods for a while.
