contamination?
1. Having your jars (in a box) near your A/C, which blows air from outside into the room. keep it mind it isn't directly near the A/C, its about 3 feet awway from it, in a different direction.
2. Having the jars in the same room as a rat. I clean the rats cage in my room. He shits a lot.
3. Checking the jars daily.
4. Incense in the same room
Just curious, thanks.

thanks, i appreciate that
This is what I've done to eliminate contamination. In case your wondering why im so worried, I lost my first 10 jars last few weeks to cobweb and some orange contam.
I now sprayed a bag with bleech, turned it inside out, and put it over the cardboard box i have the jars in

keep it away from the rat because lots of bacteria and spores grow near animals. also the AC might make the jar cooler=slower growth. can you store the jars in any other room?

hi an air conditioned room can work very well if it is around 75-80 degrees they'll be great just remember to try and keep the humidity up.

1- Optimum mycellial growth is achieved at 86 F. Your A/C has not direct influence over the jars, if they are inside a box (incubator type) at 84 F - 86 F you're doing fine. If you want to use the A/C for heating the jars, take off your cloth, put some beach shorts, sun glasses and imagine you're on the beach.
2- hmmm. I don't see anything wrong here, altough you may consider putting the cage far away from the jars and close to the ground. Clean it outside btw.
3- Just don't do it when you arrive drunk or stoned at the midlle of the night... they tend to fall.
4- No problem.
