English - even though I used to be a very bad English teacher.

Math when I'm sober, English when I'm baked.

I think it is how your brain perceives the world that makes you stronger in respective subjects.

Math kicks my ass. For some reason though, I'm very good with logic and whatnot as long as numbers aren't involved.

English is my strength. I typically score really high on the reading comprehension/english sections of standardized tests.

i'd say a bit of both

math is my dominant but my english/artistic/creative side is budding and being worked on, but will probably remain nowhere s good as my ability to do math... math just comes to me if i put my mind to it

I think this is mythology.

I am good at both.

When I studied literature, all the pomo retards kept swearing that their brains "just could not think scientifically."  I think they never tried to or they didn't want to because they were postmodernist idiots.

EDIT - typo

I like Math and am good at it. It's so much more practical. I do well in English though as well.

My gift has always been math.  Tried to translate it to accounting and once my profs started nicknaming me Enron, I got the fuck out.  Philosophy is awesome.  Perfect blend between math and english.  It was a bit brutal as my english was weak as fuck; however, I have developed phenomenal reasoning and writing abilities through philosophy.  Love that shit! :headbanger:

nice to meet you Enron

:rofl2:

is your name Aaron?

Lol.  No, I just sat in class and thought about ways to combine accounting regulatory laws in somewhat unethical, though legal, ways to save money for companies.  Apparently that is quite looked down up in the accounting program at my school. :laser:

do you think it's also mythology that some are naturally more artistic than others?

It's not mythology that people usually tend towards verbal or mathematical skills.  Why do you think they set up the SAT that way?  Of course, some people are good at both.

I've never thought about that before because I've never taken SATs.

All in all, I learn math more slowly, but once I "get" math, I am like a calculator.

I think the original question should replace "English" with "language", unless you really think that the ability to learn English is inherently different from learning other languages.

Well yeah, language.  I'm sort of the same way with math actually.  And definitely like that with physics.
