I am definitely more of an English person. I was pretty capable of math, but in my last couple years of high school, I became completely disinterested in school and wouldn't do any homework, only whatever was being worked on in class itself. Its great, because I remember at least a couple of math classes were such that tests made up a higher percentage of the final grade, so I'd get F's on homework (again, not doing it), and A's on the test. I was never particularly intrigued by English, either, but grammar came naturally and I remember developing a way with words pretty well. I think I was interested, but on more of a subconscious level.

I'm learning a new language now, and it is definitely an amazing experience. I've been taking it at my own pace and on my own terms, and kind of working in a progression of levels, or steps, that kind of drop me further and further in. The other night I noticed how similar the process was to when I first learned how to read. It feels really great because it is as though I consciously brought my mind into the state it was in when I was a young child, when the brain is so much more ready to absorb as much information about reality as it can.

It is a hell of a lot of fun, too! :ganja:

I wouldn't fear
For I've never known completeness

Wrapped in the warmth of you
Loving every breath of you

“Strengthened by contemplation and study,
I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

I think I am a math person. I easily passed english classes because I am good at bullshitting stuff, but I am way more into math, and I actually am interested in it.

English is kind of fucking stupid.

Math has always come really easily for me, for the most part I don't like it though. However, geometry is really interesting.

I have never really cared for or been good at English, the grammar and technical side that is. I'm not a been fan of poetry but I can appreciate eloquent and persuasive speech.

Its interesting you choose math and english of all subjects.  I think we see them as basic examples of some underlying duality of intelligence in some way.  In the classical tradition of education it seems reasonable to trace back nearly all subjects to two roots, literature and mathematics.  Each of which is a basic manifestation of the duality of intelligence; reason and creativity.  Well, thats my view of it at least...

I have to say Im probably equally average in both by nature.  Ive had alot of math training though, just not much inherent ability.

My gift has always been math.  Tried to translate it to accounting and once my profs started nicknaming me Enron, I got the fuck out.  Philosophy is awesome.  Perfect blend between math and english.  It was a bit brutal as my english was weak as fuck; however, I have developed phenomenal reasoning and writing abilities through philosophy.  Love that shit! :headbanger:
