I understand where you are coming from. In general, generalizations are a very negative thing, and usually innacurate. Also, I probably shouldn't generalize about ebonics, and merely should have said that I have yet to encounter an intelligent person that speaks ebonics. Clearly I am in the wrong

we should also remember the there's a difference between being inteligent and being smart

intelligence is how well your mind works.  like the internal wiring, how well your mind grasp concepts ideas principles...etc.

being smart is what you do with it.

a lot of people who speak proper english can do the stupidest things and vice versa.

besides, I wouldn't think how one speaks has any bearing on how intelligent a person is...but that's my opinion of course

I too have met tons of people who don't speak english well that were very intelligent, but they were all foreign. I like your way of thinking contrasting intelligence with being smart. However, when people don't apply their intellect, I choose to view them as not intelligent enough, as they should realize their potential.
