Big Question...Humidifier and casing

Hi. Im going to grow Using a bulk substrate, and a greenhouse, and i bough an ultrasonic humidifier. I though that I was using the casing method together wit the humidifier, but now I found out, that with casing theres no need of an humidifier. So my questions are: 1) in which bulk technics can I use the humidifier? 2) is any of those technics using the humidifier better than the one using casing? Thank you all

Nonsense! The object of using a humidifier while having a casing layer is to keep the casing layer properly hydrated. Yes, the casing layer provides the microclimate at the surface level that will initiate pinning, but the overall Relative Humidity in the chamber has to be kept up or the casing layer will lose it's moisture and be worthless. Without the humidifier, you're going to have to manually mist at least 3 times a day to keep the casing layer properly hydrated. If you use the ultrasonic humidifier, you'll need to set it on a timer so as not to overly humidify the casing layer to the point that it has pools of water. It's a balancing act.

Here I will try to help. Unless you are using a monotub, or something similar, an alternative source of humidity is what you want. If you were to place a "tray" itself, into a chamber, then it would simply not be big enough to create enough humidity. Perlite, or the humidifier, would be great. Use it! The only reason you dont use a humidifier or perlite, is if you use a monotub, grow in vitro, or do something so that the tray is actually a proportioned chamber. This for example, is a bulk tray sized mini-monotub, it is the right size that if 3-5 inches of substrate is placed in the bottom, humidity can be kept well, without perlite or a humidifier:

Monotubs, and double tubs are even larger containers that work on the same concept.

I have looked at it, and I quote this is what the 5th one down, from the search, said

I don't know maybe you meant something else. I'm just trying to show him that unless you use a monotub style setup, you need perlite or a humidifier, and a humidifier would be easier with a green house.

Dont forget that its benificial to have some evaporation of the casing layer.
