Me and my friend were walking in the woods today and all of a sudden look down and find these purple capped mushrooms all over where dead wood is. The spores are purple and some are rusty/purple. The caps are completely purple and have white and browish spots on top. The stems are white , but have purple all over them from the spore deposit. Does anyone know if they?re hallucengenic or?? help appreciated!!!!!! Heres some pics, my camera sucks though..

Someone can't read very well...
Did you not notice the 2nd topic in the picture forum? You know, the one that's been sticky and at the top for like... 3 months.
It looks like you've got some species of Cortinarius, but its hard to tell by the pics. Do not eat these under any circumstances, some Corts are *deadly*... Was there a veil or veil remnants on the stem?

Sorry about that, ill make sure next time not to make that mistake. As for the shrooms, there is no veil attached or reminces of them on any of the shrooms Thanks for the response!

Try and post a bit better description and we'll try to ID them. What you've told us so far isn't much to go by.
They sound like they're probably Cortinarius of some sort, like Gumby said. If so, it's doubtful we can ID much better than that - corts are very difficult. There are some other possibilities that could show up depending on your description. As GumbyDude said, DO NOT EAT. Some Cortinarius are deadly poisonous - they cause kidney failure, and I'm sure you don't want to have to get a kidney transplant. Also, none of them are psychedelic or even very good to eat.

The absense of a veil or veil remnants makes me wonder if they're Corts... What are some other types of purple capped mushrooms, ToxicMan?

The main one that comes to mind is Lepista nuda (=Clitocybe nuda), which has a purplish cap when young, no veil, and a pinkish buff spore print. Also, the stems are whitish or pale purplish and bruise dark lavender, which suggests much of what was described. But I didn't see enough in the description to want to go with it.
BTW, RageX13, this species is considered a very good edible, if that's what it is. We need more description to confirm.
