here is a 'shroom i found on some cow dung that i got months ago(spring break(not sure of month or whatever, everyone's spring break is different) and poured some Eq spore water and Cambodian spore water on different batches, but they never took to the dung, now months later i find this 'shroom growing from it:
the stem is hollow-semi-hollow and no bruising, found in south east-gulf coast texas

i second. [edit: oops, i din't catch that part about the spore water. you will not likely ever inoculate dung from a field that way.]

I'm with Mitchnast and the guys on this one. Definitely looks like some sort of pan. In that last photo: is that flash effect from the camera, or are the gills of that guy really light salmon? Anyway, pan sphinctrinus looks like about the best guess you're going to get. The veil remnants on the edge of the cap are definitely consistent with this species. If it is a p. sphinctrinus, then it should (at least according to leda.lycaeum.org) be somewhat active. Check out Leda's section on pan sphinctrinus: http://leda.lycaeum.org/?ID=566 Happy hunting, man.

when i picked it, the veil was still closed and it was clear and shiny, the gills were acctually darker than the photo, but no matter how hard i try i can't get the cam to get a true color pic sometimes because of the flash, the spore print is somewhat dark grayish
