What *I* recommend is putting the wheat berries in a sauce pan with enough water to cover plus a couple inches.Bring it to a boil, then turn down the heat just below a simmer.Keep it there for an hour.Add water if it gets below the surface of the grains.Drain the wheat in a strainer or collander.Place grain in jars, leaving at least 25% empty space for adding spawn and shaking.Don't add additional water.PC for 90 minutes (make sure to start off with a good bit of water in there,or it may boil dry in 90 minutes-unless it is the type that seals up completely).
I think you want about a cup of dry grain for each quart jar,but to be honest I just eyeball a pot's worth then fill jars till I've used it up.
Good luck!

What are you looking to innoculate said wheat berries with? (Out of interest).

Bags are excellent for any oyster variety.
So...
- You're creating your spawn using wheat berries - The wheat berries are going to innoculate wood pellets?
Why wood pellets? I'd tend to be more inclined to use straw or a paper by-product first. But that's just my kink ;-)
Do you have a copy of GGMM to hand?

GGMM == Stamet's "Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms". A good investment, if you've got the spare coin.
If you need any growth parameters or other trinkets of info, let me know and I'll dig them out for you.
