Really nice!
Here is what I've got: 3grain (rye) jars inoculated with anno's enoki

Jars were inoculated the 6th december and placed into an incubator at 20-24 degrees celsius. I'm looking for sawdust now

Might want to swtich from dH2O to mineral water...more yummy nutrients in mineral water (I'm assuming you really do mean dH2O).

Using water with trace elements probably only marginally helps at best....but sometimes we need every little helping hand we can get
Nice write-up, BTW. Do you have a chemistry background?

It looks very good!!!
In reply to:
But I want to point out that when I decided to give each plate a breath of fresh air once each day the peroxidated plates began to take off, eventually catching up to the non treated plates. I began doing this about 10 days after I had started the second batch of plates?. I?m not quite sure why this happened?
That's interesting. The peroxidated plates should have more oxygen inside so they shouldn't benefit from aeration. Maybe the events were not related. H2O2 was probably destroyed at that time and mycellium would take off anyway.
How do you wrap your plates? I had good results with Micropore medical tape that is supposed to allow breathing while keeping the contaminants out.

I didn't shake the jars at all... Someone told me it was a very bad habit and I believe him
A have a question for you! I have a petri dish, almost a month old, and the agar turned brown, dark brown... Did you had something similar?

well it seems like everything is proceeding quite well. I am quite eager to see how these will do for you. One thing that I had not noticed was under what types of conditions are you going to attempt to fruit these cultures? Indoor, outdoor? Since they do require relatively brisk temperatures for fruiiting if you are going to try them indoors I would love to hear about a potential set-up. H2O2 degrades very rapidly with exposure to light, heat (above aprox. 50-60 C) and organic material. It doesn't seem too far-fetched that there could be too much oxygen present (even in the form of regular O2) to inhibit growth at this stage, but I am not expert so.... *shrug* Before I start work with these I am going to pic up a decent digi-cam so if you have any suggestions let me know. I already got some ideas from Joshua on a few models. good luck and I await with abated breath the next installment.

Also remember that H2O2 inhibits mycelium growth at anything other than very low concentrations! But because mycelium generally gets a better start than contaminants, that's where selection and dominance happens.

Bran is quite wildly used in fortified substrates...
I've heard some interesting things about tea and dog food....but never tried them myself (tried coffee grounds; didn't work out too well).
Don't let the mushroom ratings bother you. I only have a four mushroom rating, and I'm only slightly less sexy than Anno
Keep posting.

Looks like LUX X 1 = Lumens acording to this conversion chart. http://www.botanical.com/botanical/convfact.html#lig Many bulbs are rated in lumens so you should find one that will be close. Here is some more info I found, just to make your head hurt http://www.physlink.com/Education/AskExperts/ae409.cfm I think just a standard grow bulb would be just fine.

1 lux = 1 lumen per square meter. So to find lux you divide the lumen output of the bulb by the area over which the light is distributed.

"along with CO2 ranges of 2000-4000 ppm this (low light/ mininmal light conditions) may be one of the requirements for this species to develop into the tall, thinly stemmed and dainty capped mushroom... or it might be thing of a different species within the same genus... if i do a search at stamets site for FV i get this"
Dont know if you have tryed mushworld.com for some info. It's a great site. anyway, it seems that the CO2 is the primary factor in stem lenght.

Hey!!!!!!!! I have the same problem! Well, the fluids are not that big but still... I removed the jars from the incubator and then, I saw that dark yellow liquid (sweat, or what else is it? )

Use them or lose them. I suggest using them to spawn watever you are going to use.
They have the overincubated, or incubated outside the proper temp range look.

According to your Temp of 70F you are slightly below the temp range of 72-77F.
Your jars also colonized exceptionally fast for the species.
Very good Strain!!!
Just use them as soon as possible.

Since this is a wild strain and you are growing from spores, I can?t really tell you what substrate works best for it.
I only tried it on beech chips so far and it colonized fast.

God my reading comprehension is getting pretty bad. To much HERB.
I missed that this Strain was wild and your cultures originated from a spore print. I thought you were using a CULTURE of a tested Strain(substrain).
Sorry
