As often as you are fanning your humidity is most likely way too low.

Lemme see another pic

Washigton state is known as well as Oregon for an abundance of relatively easy to find Psilocybe Azurescens and Cyanescens from October through November.

Dump the cake with your friend and tell him he can have what little it produces.

Spend what little time you have left familiarizing yourself with the shrooms I mentioned above.  Just a couple of those will send you on the best trip available from the mushroom gods. No risks in dorm growing, rental units finding out, or being disappointed with the one cake resulting in too little to make you happy.

Azure's and Cyan's are WAY more potent than cubies, so BE CAREFUL, and BE SURE of what you find before ingesting them.

Happy hunting!

Oh yeah, that's right, I forgot that the government educated the Azure's as to where the state line is and that they'd be prosecuted for growing on the north side of the line. Gimme a break Road! LOL!!

LOLZZZ @ myself! That's what I get for staying up all night, I fixed it. Meant north. You can't be serious, they're all over that region. And he'll certainly find wavy caps (Cyan's) if he looks around, no problem, and they're extremely close to as good.

LOL!! Well, this makes around 7 or so for me! I'm having a blast though!

And hey, another thought, what would be so tough to do a weekend road trip with a couple of college buddies and hit the Oregon coast where your almost guaranteed not to come home empty handed?

Hey Shadler, if you're reading, this is VERY good advice!! Just remember those caramel colored beauties are THREE TIMES as potent as your average cubie, so BE CAREFUL okay?  And get SOME studying done, after all, that is why you're there.

Alright, Alright....I know there are plenty of cyans. around here, but having never picked before (and I'm probably the most shroom-aware out of all of my friends), I don't really trust myself to pick just yet. And I don't know any spots at all....but I here ya!! I really want to go picking soon.....don't know if I'd eat them though because I'm just never sure enough.....

Psilocybe Cyanascens is easy to ID.... It has a carmel to chestnut brown color and a wavy cap with a nippled center. The gills are dark in color with dark purple spores. The flesh gets blue very easily when bruised. I forget what the exact size parameters are, but the caps are usually 1.5-3" in diameter and the stems are very short.

As far as I know there aren't any harmful look-alikes to this particular strain that carry all of the above characteristics. Find as many pictures and descriptions as you can all over the web and buy a book on mushroom hunting.

You still have 3-4 weeks before they'll begin fruiting in abundance, so gather your knowledge and seek out someone who's experienced in finding them if possible.

It will be well worth the effort. I wish I lived up there!!!
