Cakes not Pinning
    #395520 - 09/15/01 11:12 PM (23 years, 5 months ago)

I have two cakes in two small terriums with perlite as the humidity method... These cakes were 100% colonized when I put them in the terrium. It has been about a week and I have seen no sign of pinning. I'm I going to see pinning soon??

They should. Just make sure that there is enough air exchange, humidity is at a good level, and it is at the right heat, with light. Give it a few more days.

thats in the low range. Temperatures in that range will slow growth considerably. If your temperature is somewhere between 75 and 85 I've found that works very well (ideal is about 83ish).

good luck

Ideal fruiting temperature for P. cubensis, is 72-76?F.

i've got two terrariums (one for cakes, and a small one for a casing) but only one heat mat. which one is going to need the heat mat more? which needs the higher temp, cakes or casings?

sorry I didn't specify my strain.

I'm using P.C. Cambodia, they grow in alittle warmer conditions then the regular Cubensis strain.

cheers,

abudiwa
